talk talk

Yeah yeah yeah, I know I said music before talking, but I'm quite sure no one's reading this yet.

Apart from the sporadic and ongoing demo overdubs, focus briefly shifted to practice rooms this week. Having outgrown the primary school and Aaron's living room, it was time to concede defeat and move to more isolated pastures.

Is it possible to be in love with a room? If it is, then i am! Maybe it has golden ratio dimensions? Or maybe it was the inclusion of both drum kit AND couch? Not that Aaron's living room didn't have those things, but you get my drift. Either way i was sold. We try it out next week anyway.

Other than that, demo recordings are 95% recorded and 0% mixed, I'm listening to the new Mew album on repeat, and grieving the loss of Oasis. You'd be forgiven for thinking this is a euphamism, but I'm consoling myself by listening to my 12" Shakermaker.

Shake along with me,
crabb

introducing the band

Seeing as the site may have to stay here until i get a job and enough money to pay for another proper domain name, i figured i might as well delete all the test posts and start over. The band is still very young at this point, we are still 5 minutes short of a gig-able set, we have no band photos, and we haven't really discussed names yet.

I must point out that whilst the band is young, the band *members* themselves are old enough to be your dads, and in some cases, are.

We're hoping we have just enough equipment, knowledge and talent to make some semi-decent recordings. We are based in a cultural blackhole, where gigs (if any) are likely to be stressful, underattended and humiliating, so recording might be our only link to a better world.

But enough talk, by the end of next week we should have 3 rough* demos finished, which should help to put things in perspective.

*when I say rough, I mean rough - drums were recorded on an iPhone
